The Five Year-Old Young Jumper Championship Invitational featured the top fifteen starters competing over a course designed by Jose “Pepe” Gamarra, of La Paz, Bolivia. Scoring for the Five Year Old Jumpers was Table V, Sec. 2a. Optimum Time format with the optimum time set at 32 seconds. Darragh Kerins emerged victorious on the stylish five-year old, Blue Danube (Hamar-Pearl Peak, by Abdullah) bred and owned by the Tatra Farms and Patricia Garthwaite Towle. Kerins piloted the big gray to a time of 32.333 seconds, a mere .333 seconds away from the optimum time! MORE

Austria's Thomas Fruhmann recorded a surprise result when winning the fifth leg of the FEI World Cup Jumping season with a superb performance at Geneve from his nine year old horse, The Sixth Sense (ex Zeno 10, Zorro T-Granada, by Grannus) and what made the victory even more creditable was the fact that the veteran 54 year old rider has been out of top-class competition for almost five years.
